Drummer Gonzalo del Val presents a project inspired entirely by Mexican roots music: an evocative, innovative programme that reworks the traditional Mexican songbook from an open, contemporary perspective, blending different styles and musical languages. Regarded as one of the outstanding drummers on the Spanish jazz scene, Gonzalo del Val presents this album alongside one of Catalonia's most significant voices, Celeste Alías. The project brings together musicians of international standing in an agile, balanced line-up with a warm and consistently evocative sound — the perfect vehicle for the players to express themselves freely and comfortably, offering music full of warmth, intimacy and interpretative sensitivity.
