The Gothic never travels intact. When it reaches Latin America and the Caribbean, its codes are transformed, blending with new landscapes, memories and imaginaries, and giving rise to distinctive ways of understanding darkness and the uncanny. In this workshop, writer Claudia Amador will trace this transformation of the classic Gothic and explore how its motifs and conventions are reinterpreted through Latin American realities and imaginaries.
