'Learn to Sew with a Machine: Intermediate' Workshop

If you already have basic sewing skills and want to continue improving, this is your workshop! You will learn to sew zips, attach sewn elastic, line bags, make gathers and buttonholes, and attach bias tape and Velcro, all through a range of projects. Materials for the first day: a basic sewing kit with fabric scissors, thread, tape measure, seam ripper and needles. Also bobbin case, bobbins, universal presser foot and sewing-machine needles, pencil, paper for notes and pattern paper. Two pieces of fabric measuring 30 x 40 cm, such as cotton, poplin, gabardine or lightweight canvas —not stretchy or slippery when sewn—, one for the outside and one for the inside to make a lined purse, plus matching thread. Participants are advised not to buy these until the workshop is confirmed. Led by Mavi Hita.
