By Carme de la Madrid. This photographic report portrays the everyday life of sewing groups in Barcelona and highlights their social, creative and community dimensions. Through testimonies and images, it shows how sewing is much more than a technique: it is a tool for relationships, support and resistance. These spaces have become welcoming places where networks are built, bonds of trust and belonging are created, and weekly gatherings offer learning, conversation and care. For many women, the groups are, as they themselves say, “a refuge” or “a space of respite”. The exhibition will open with a photo-embroidery workshop led by Xarxa de Dones Cosidores.
