'Let’s Go to the Exhibition!' Workshop

A contemporary-art workshop combining introductory sessions at Centre Cívic Can Felipa with visits to exhibitions in Barcelona. Throughout the term, participants will reflect on what we mean by contemporary art and how it is produced, exhibited and experienced today, based on direct encounters with artworks, exhibition spaces and artistic practices. The workshop addresses issues such as the temporality of the artwork, dematerialisation, reproducibility and the figure of the artist, using major authors as references. Visits, with Can Felipa as the base, serve as a starting point for sensitive thought, exchange and personal experience of each exhibition, encouraging an active and critical understanding of contemporary artistic practices. Taught by Iván Candeo. Workshop calendar: October: Monday 5, introduction to the exhibition, and outing Friday 9; November: Monday 2, introduction to the exhibition, and outing Friday 6; December: Monday 17, introduction to the exhibition, and outing Friday 18. *Taught in Spanish.
