"Light and Forms - A Personal View" Exhibition

Paco Monforte (Barcelona) is an architect, graduating from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 1990, and a photographer. His professional career has always been closely linked to architecture, while photography has gradually become a natural extension of his way of observing and interpreting the world. Far from seeing them as separate disciplines, he understands them as two complementary ways of constructing a perspective, with light as the essential element capable of modelling volumes, revealing material and giving meaning to space. The two series making up this exhibition share this same thread. In Llum i formes, architecture is reinterpreted through its fragments, geometry, textures and contrasts of light. Buildings cease to be recognisable objects and become visual compositions inviting the viewer into a contemplative experience in which the boundary between reality and abstraction becomes blurred. In Vint-i-nou xemeneies i una torre, developed in collaboration with l'Arxiu Històric del Poblenou and historian Isi Cervantes, photography serves the memory of Sant Martí's industrial heritage.
