'Local Meteorology' Workshop
29 September 2026 – 13 October 2026 · 18:00
Centre Cívic Vil·la Urània, el Putxet i el Farró, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi
The weather often goes unnoticed. We pay close attention to forecasts and whether it will rain, but much less to what is actually happening above our heads. Weather is active every day, 24 hours a day, and beyond storms and rain it offers spectacles that are often unknown and overlooked. In this short course we will show you phenomena that occur more often than we might imagine and that we miss simply because we do not look up. We will be able to observe and experience meteorology without technology or expense. We will end this journey by looking at the sky from one of the most privileged viewpoints: l'Observatori Fabra, where meteorologists have worked every day for more than a century. Led by Alfons Puertas, meteorologist at l'Observatori Fabra.
