Loop Festival 2026: Xiu Xiu Curated by Filipa Ramos In 2026, as Barcelona becomes World Capital of Architecture, Loop Festival presents an edition entitled Xiu Xiu (from "Xiuxiueigs", Catalan for whispers) that celebrates the city as host to a multiplicity of life forms that share spaces, rhythms, tones and places with us. The Festival explores how architecture accommodates the human and the more-than-human, revealing the unique ability of artists' cinema to represent and honour the many worlds our world contains. Xiu Xiu focuses on the spaces —domestic, public, infrastructural, marginal— where these relationships become most tangible: the gestures, rhythms, sounds, movements and forms of coexistence that often unfold at the edge of perception. From the micro-architectures that sustain non-human life to the unplanned ways in which animals, plants, materials and atmospheres inhabit the city, the programme invites the public to tune in to Barcelona's quietest and often overlooked forms of life. The 2026 edition will unfold through a curated programme of videos, films, installations and performances presented across the city in collaboration with its main cultural institutions.…
