'María Cielos' Concert

26 September 2026 · 17:50

Recinte Fabra i Coats, Sant Andreu, Sant Andreu

María Cielos. Singer-songwriter, folk; Barcelona. Perenne Pilar. María Cielos is a Catalan singer-songwriter who returned to her native country after living in Rwanda for almost eight years. Her first album, Perenne Pilar, released in January 2025 on the Microscopi label, is a meticulous work in which mature poetic language intertwines with folklore, indie-folk and singer-songwriter music, incorporating influences from traditional Rwandan music and the emotional intensity we recognise in flamenco. Featuring Rwandan and Catalan artists, Perenne Pilar tells, with honesty, passion and movement, the human experience of living and the forces that drive us through life. María Cielos's voice tells stories with honesty, passion and movement. It caresses and scratches on a sensitive and moving journey towards an intimate and vulnerable place we recognise as our own. The artist plays freely with stage presence, words and silence, arrangements and sonic textures, making everything feel like a one-way journey in which every emotion is welcome. Come and discover a creator who turns fragility into strength and silence into music.

Part of the programme: Mercè 2026. 103 activities in Barcelona, from September 23 to September 27. All free.
