The songs, written at distant times and in distant places, give order to the emotions Garrett experienced while frequently changing countries and homes and being separated from family and friends. Un a un offers a hazy collection of indie singer-songwriter tracks mixing Portuguese folk with modern rhythms, jazz sonorities with more electronic ones, and ethereal atmospheres with groovier textures among layers of voices.
