"Modern Sashiko Embroidery" Workshop

9 November 2026 – 14 December 2026 · 10:00

Centre Cívic Vil·la Urània, el Putxet i el Farró, Sarrià-Sant Gervasi

No previous embroidery knowledge is required. Many Japanese artists who practise sashiko today mix traditional embroidery stitches with the basic stitches of traditional sashiko. They create geometric and sometimes figurative designs, always rooted in and inspired by nature. It is a highly engaging, relaxing and enjoyable form of embroidery. In this workshop we will experiment with new designs to apply to bags, cases or clothing. Materials for the first day: basic sewing kit —thread, scissors, rulers, pins and marker—. Participants are advised not to buy it until the workshop is confirmed. Led by Misako Mimoko.
