Between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the decorative arts within Catalan architecture went through a great flowering. Buildings from that period incorporated sculpture, stained glass, ceramics and ironwork, resulting in richly decorated constructions that are works of art in themselves. The arpillera makers of the Grup d'arpilleres del Casal de Barri Congrés-Indians have turned their attention to the ceramic tiles used at the time that have survived to the present day.
