To speak of Raül Pratginestós (DJ Zero) is to talk about a vital institution in Barcelona. Regarded as a leading authority on electronic music, this veteran selector is celebrated not only for his versatility behind the decks but also for the deep respect he commands among his industry peers. Over the years, he has expanded his role as a DJ through music journalism, event promotion, running the Fauni Gena label, and managing the legendary electronic section at the Wah Wah record shop. He owns one of the finest vinyl collections in the country—an archive so impressive that Boiler Room director Michail Stangl even visited his home to document it. Despite a profound musical knowledge that leads icons like Óscar Mulero to name him as one of the country’s best, Zero remains remarkably humble, warm, and approachable. His journey began in 1990 as a turntablist, competing in the DMC championships and becoming a central figure in the Spanish hip-hop scene, particularly after co-founding the group 7 Notas 7 Colores alongside Mucho Muchacho in 1992. Shortly after, his career intersected with the electronic music explosion in Barcelona.
