One-off Workshop 'Tastets literaris'

Cultural-promotion workshop. Professional: Jordi Caixàs i Borrell. We will begin this year's third term with three novels whose central theme is war in three different settings —Spain, the Aragon front and Barcelona, and Greece— through three major titles: A sangre y fuego. Héroes, bestias y mártires de España by Manuel Chaves Nogales brings together eleven stories about the Spanish Civil War set across different parts of Spain; El passat no és un somni by Theodor Kallifatides is an autobiographical account and historical-social chronicle of Greece from the interwar period to the beginning of the 21st century; and finally, Incerta Glòria by Joan Sales evokes the Civil War on the Aragon front from the perspective of three republican-officer friends and in Barcelona through the eyes of one of their partners, concluding with a portrait of the same city during the post-war period from the perspective of a friend who was a seminarian during the conflict and became a priest afterwards.
