"Patax" Concert

Jazz, flamenco, funk and world rhythms meet in Work in Fusion, PATAX's new tour. On 27 November the band comes to the Teatre l'Aliança del Poblenou with a live show in which improvisation, virtuosity and a hard-to-classify way of making music sit side by side. At the helm is percussionist Jorge Pérez, trained between Madrid, Cuba and the Berklee College of Music in Boston, who has spent years exploring the connections between seemingly distant styles. His music starts from respect for each tradition but takes the liberty of pushing them into new territory. With Aurora García on vocals, the dancer Sara Sánchez and a band of top-class musicians with real rapport on stage, PATAX build a show where the rhythm moves from jazz to flamenco, from funk to world music, always with improvisation at the centre. A concert where tradition, risk and creativity share the stage.
