'Prelude, Samba and Swing. Rediscovering and Reinterpreting Different Musical Styles' Workshop
17 October 2026 – 14 November 2026 · 11:00
CaixaForum Barcelona, la Font de la Guatlla, Sants-Montjuïc
Can you imagine Bach composing a samba or Miles Davis improvising on a Baroque melody? In this family workshop, we offer a musical journey that brings together eras, rhythms and cultures. Through listening, play and improvisation, we will discover how such different styles —such as Baroque music, ethnic sounds and swing— talk to each other and how they can turn into one another. Through small creative activities, playing, singing and improvising will be the tools with which each participant composes their own piece. We will explore which elements these musical languages share, what makes them unique and how they influence each other. An experience to enjoy as a family, in which music becomes a space for discovery, creativity and connection. Activity recommended for families with children aged 8 and over. Children must always be accompanied by an adult, who must also book a ticket for the activity.
