"RIOPY" Concert

30 September 2026 · 20:30

Sala Paral·lel 62, el Raval, Ciutat Vella

Jean-Philippe Rio-Py, known worldwide as RIOPY, does not see music as a career but as a vital necessity for survival. With more than one billion streams and after topping Billboard's classical charts, this pianist, composer and multi-instrumentalist arrives at Guitar Bcn with a story that goes far beyond numbers. Born into an isolated community in rural France in the 1980s, RIOPY taught himself to play on an abandoned piano, finding in improvisation his only escape. After leaving at 18 and building a life from nothing in London —where Coldplay's Chris Martin recognised his talent and gave him his first piano— his minimalist, cinematic music has reached everything from Oscar-winning film soundtracks to collaborations with stars such as Lana Del Rey. During his festival appearance at Paral·lel 62, he will present his fifth album, Be Love. This work marks a personal milestone: after facing a serious illness, RIOPY uses his voice for the first time to create a sonic experience of peace and empathy. More than a concert, his performance is an invitation to connect with the heart and discover the healing power of sound.

Part of the programme: Festival "Guitar Bcn 2026". Festival "Guitar Bcn 2026: 12 activities in Barcelona, from September 3 to January 15.
