The Sant Andreu Jazz Band (SAJB) was founded in 2006 playing, above all, music linked to the cradle of jazz, New Orleans. As it grew year after year, its repertoire shifted towards the big-band era, but some time ago the SAJB decided to return to its roots with the orchestra's youngest members, who present a traditional-jazz repertoire with new arrangements in a 12-musician format, in keeping with the early large ensembles of the 1920s and 1930s that turned New Orleans into jazz's foundational myth. According to Joan Chamorro himself, founder and driving force of the SAJB, this is a concert in which to enjoy “young soloists and new voices offering a different view of classic pieces”.
