"Sarsuela & Strass" Concert

The return we have been waiting for: the story continues amid glamour and plenty of cheekiness. If you were left wanting more after "Visca la Sarsuela!" at the 2024 Festa Major del Poblenou, this September the stage at the Aliança del Poblenou will welcome charismatic comic soprano Thanya Santos "La Revoltosa" and the excellent voice of baritone Joan Garcia Gomà, who pick up the thread of that story (where we left it) and will guide us through an afternoon of humour, feathers, sequins… and the odd unexpected situation (yes, you read that correctly: nappies!). "Sarsuela & Strass" is not only a collection of great lyrical hits and familiar songs; it is a reunion with the humour and nostalgia of a genre that feels very much our own at the Aliança. Amid sequins, the occasional unexpected surprise and the skill of these two great performers, we will celebrate the fact that zarzuela is still very much alive in the Poblenou.
