Diasporas have been one of the major drivers of progress and change in Mediterranean societies. This process of hybridisation and cultural translation rejects the idea of an immutable identity tied either to the country of origin or to the country of arrival. Historically in the Mediterranean, diasporic societies have inhabited in-between spaces that have encouraged the creation of entirely new cultural forms. During the Setmana, we will discover different local artistic productions that help our society move towards a fluid society based on cultural mixing and negotiation rather than difference and racism.
