"Silicon Amnesia - The Price of Outsourcing Memory" Conference

We offer two conferences open to everyone, discussing different topics related to new technologies to make them easier to understand and help people stay up to date. Led by Jordi-Joan Rubí. As we outsource our memories and knowledge to cloud servers, our intellectual and biographical capacity weakens. This conference reflects on the “Google effect” and how delegating memory to digital devices is reshaping our brains and our notion of the past. We will distinguish between mass access to data and true knowledge, which requires time and personal integration. What is the cost of a culture that knows everything instantly but remembers nothing?
