Talk "Fontades: Eating Together Outdoors"

Picnic talk led by Muntsa Holgado from Cuinant Cultures. Wanting some fresh air and an escape from the oppressive environment of over-densified Industrial-Revolution Barcelona, residents would gather around Montjuïc's many fountains. It was an opportunity to catch up, strengthen bonds and, why not, meet people and court beneath the shade of a fig tree. Around shared food containers and a water jug passed from hand to hand, we will talk about these community spaces that foster identity, sociability and the transmission of knowledge.
