"The Community Show; the History of Sant Martí de Provençals" Exhibition

By l'Associació Petit Ballet de Barcelona. A photographic record of the community show La història de Sant Martí de Provençals. This collective project brought together residents, organisations and local professionals to relive the neighbourhood's history through stage performance and was presented as part of the 2024 Festa Major. The show journeyed from Roman origins and the Middle Ages through wars, the transformation of the agricultural landscape and the arrival of the Industrial Revolution. These were periods when rural and industrial life coexisted and shaped the area's identity. It also highlighted immigration in the 1950s, the emergence of local associations and neighbourhood campaigns that helped build today's Sant Martí de Provençals. The exhibition captures moments from this community experience and highlights shared memory, citizen participation and the bond between people and the neighbourhood's history. Venue: Sala d'actes.
