'The Conspiracy of Technology: Júlia Nueno' Talk
2 December 2026 · 18:30
Biblioteca Zona Nord - Mària Sánchez, Torre Baró, Nou Barris
What we call technology determines many of the actions we can take today, as individuals and as societies. Seemingly impersonal, technologies reach our hands loaded with decisions and worldviews, with relationships already in place and conspiracies already under way. How can we perceive this? Can we strip technologies of their apparent neutrality and take responsibility for their biases and intentions? What is the relationship between technologies and the wars of our time? Júlia Nueno Guitart is a researcher and computational designer. Her work explores the intersection between digital infrastructures and communities in resistance, emergency or disappearance. She is a doctoral fellow at Forensic Architecture (Goldsmiths, University of London), where she researches violence in information and surveillance systems and tests ways of subverting them. She edited the collective book Genocidios (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2015). Prior registration required (from Tuesday 17 November, 4 pm).
