'The Foto Colectania Collection' Exhibition

Foto Colectania presents an exhibition curated by Florian Ebner, Chief Curator of Photography at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, drawn from the Foto Colectania Collection. For the first time, Foto Colectania has entrusted the curatorship to a renowned international expert with the aim of creating a new reading of the collection and expanding the international reach of Spanish photography. From the outset, the exhibition has been conceived to travel outside Spain and strengthen the presence of both the collection and its artists abroad. The project will articulate the history of two emancipations —social and photographic— and is structured into several chapters that enter into dialogue with one another through a chrono-thematic approach, connecting practices and discourses across different generations. The layout will alternate works displayed on the walls with table vitrines, relating original photographs to other kinds of printed images, albums, contact sheets and photobooks. This staging will invite reflection on the different formats and states of the photographic image and on how each form shapes its reading and public function. Curated by Florian Ebner.
