'The Heartbeats of the Sky' Astronomy Workshop

Led by Jaume Mas, coordinator of Planetari Municipal de Barcelona. We are used to looking at the sky and seeing stars as unchanging points of light. But if we observe them more closely, some seem to flicker and, with the right equipment, we can see that their brightness can also vary. Why does this happen? In this workshop we will review the reasons why a star does not always have the same brightness and can pulse like the heart of a living being. You may be surprised! The workshop will take place at Centre Cívic Guinardó and is intended exclusively for adults and accompanied participants aged over sixteen.
