'The Invention of Time' Exhibition

What is time? How do we perceive it? Where does it come from? Can we predict the future or travel into the past? Starting from these and many other questions, the exhibition proposes a thematic and emotional journey through the concept of time. Its aim is to bring audiences closer to the major scientific advances and cultural interpretations that have sought to understand, measure and experience this phenomenon, which is both highly abstract and deeply central to human life. The exhibition combines content from biology, physics, neuroscience, art and literature to show how time runs through every sphere of our existence: from the origin of the universe and the evolution of life to our individual perception of the passage of time, memory, planning for the future and awareness of the present. This unique exhibition forms part of the Museu's Exposicions Singulars programme and invites reflection on Time through science, culture, the human condition, philosophy and contemporary thought.
