'The Music Industry' Exhibition, by Joan Masats
6 November 2026 – 28 November 2026 · 10:00
Casal de Barri Comunitari El Poblenou, el Poblenou, Sant Martí
Music is one of the main threads of our lives. That is why Joan Masats and I decided to photograph one of its most important yet least known aspects: its industry. Without it, neither enjoying music performance nor passing musical traditions down the generations would be possible. The sound of music needs an industry that provides musicians and listeners with the essential materials for creating sound. This craft takes place in workshops run by people who are a true institution of their country, city, neighbourhood… We wanted to show this craftsmanship, too often solitary, that builds the materials of music from tradition and know-how. Coordination: Martí Parés
Part of the programme: FotoFest 2026 Festival. See the 13 activities in this programme in Barcelona, from November 6 to 29. All free.
