From the inner world to the New World We present to our audience one of the most notable conductors working today, the French conductor Chloé van Soeterstède, with her clear gesture and always expressive readings. We meet the cellist Nadège Rochat again on her second visit of the season, this time with Elgar's moving Cello Concerto, a work of intimate confidence and orchestral tension. In the second half, Dvořák's Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" fills the stage with melodic breadth and rhythmic drive. An intense programme of great symphonic sweep.
