"The Soul in Verse" Concert

This recital offers an emotional journey through the history of the lied, a genre in which voice and piano merge to elevate poetry to a higher dimension. From the foundations of the German tradition to French mélodie in wartime, the programme explores the most intimate corners of human experience. With works by Schubert, Schumann, Wolf and Poulenc, the programme is not simply a sequence of songs but a reflection of how great composers have used the union of music and words to find beauty, consolation and freedom in the darkest moments of history. Jana Corominas, mezzo-soprano, and Oriana Kemelmajer Alías, piano.
