«The Sun is Rising» is the second album by French singer-songwriter Djeliah. Blending jazz, soul, funk, reggae and afrobeat, the project draws on artists such as Nina Simone, Fela Kuti, Bob Marley and Erykah Badu, resulting in a contemporary sound rooted in ancestral traditions. Recorded organically in Chapada Diamantina, Brazil, and produced by Gustavo Filograsso and Pablo Rosas, the album features Momi Maiga on the track Mama Àfrica. The songs explore spirituality, freedom and collective consciousness, establishing Djeliah as a singular voice on the independent music scene. Live, the project becomes an immersive experience connecting the spiritual with the political, the intimate with the collective. Born in France, based in Brazil and shaped by her time in London and Barcelona, Djeliah makes music with global reach, guided by presence, emotion and message. With more than 2,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, songs played in 86 countries and a place on 75 playlists, the live performance of The Sun is Rising reaffirms its purpose: a sensitive but powerful call for times of transformation.
