It seems Heraclitus visited Barcelona before declaring that nothing is permanent except change. The pace at which the city is transforming is astonishing. Every day old factories are boarded up and new buildings spring up. In almost every neighbourhood you find buildings or flats being renovated, or streets dug up. At least you never get bored walking the dog! Rubble bags are part of Barcelona's urban landscape. To me, they symbolise our ever-changing city. I chose photo-painting to create this series, thinking bold colours would add some pep to a rather austere, not to say dull, subject. Coordination: Marie-Pierre Teuler
