Telling the life of Miguel Hernández is always an adventure, because his profile breaks moulds and defies rules and statistics. He is a truly exceptional case, both as a writer and as a man. It is also an adventure because constructing his biographical story involves a task of recovery and clearing away, distancing him from the clichés that turned him into a banner, a martyr and a sad shepherd-poet. Returning him to his natural state, to his condition as a passionate militant for life, stripped of legends, is the task undertaken by our show, with the aim of captivating the audience through the life journey of a poet who, in only twelve years of creative work, fully justified his vocation by leaving future editors four thousand pages of blessed words. Miguel Hernández died very young, but in those 31 years of life he traced an unprecedented path in the history of contemporary literature. He became a necessary poet, as Antonio Buero Vallejo described him, in a turbulent period divided, for him, between six years of the Republic, disappointments and hopes, and six more years of brutal war and imprisonment under Francoism.
