Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's The Magic Flute

7 December 2026

Palau de la Música Catalana, Sant Pere, Santa Caterina i la Ribera, Ciutat Vella

This Magic Flute is intended as a humble tribute to all the opera companies that travelled the roads of the world, with love. Mozart, like all true art, does not need to be understood to reach our soul. Sublime in the beauty of goodness (the ineffable stuff of dreams, down to the slightest note), Mozart's humble greatness reveals itself by inducing in us absolute abstraction, oblivion: Schopenhauer's embellishment, the implicit transcendental foundation of beauty. Transcendence is a virtue. Virtue is a being's disposition to act ideally in life. And if any human being has enjoyed this prerogative in the long, arduous and tortuous course of history (itself a human prerogative), that being was W.A. Mozart, and its purest example, his Magic Flute. Credits Jofre Bardolet, musical arrangements Jaume Villanueva, staging Soloists of the Orquestra de cambra Terrassa 48 Valentina Raposo and Pepe Otal, puppets Enric Boxadera, costumes Isa Moren, choreography Òpera Popular de Barcelona, resident company: Alba M.
