Teacher: Aïda Kabbani. The representation of women in art has both created and reflected the stereotypes and roles women are expected to fulfil, as well as those they are expected to reject, in Western culture and society. In this course we will analyse the image of women throughout art history, focusing on the female nude because of the prevalence of such images in art, alongside the figure of the femme fatale and other female stereotypes.
