Led by Xosé Díaz, Professor of Philosophy. Dhuoda of Aquitaine, a countess, was a strong woman from the upper ranks of Carolingian feudal nobility. She lived through the imperial succession crisis that ended with the division of the Carolingian Empire into three kingdoms. Educated as a member of the Frankish elite, she left a record of her ideas and convictions in a work, Manual for My Son, one of the earliest mirrors for princes. In it she combines her two major sources of conviction: the order and legitimacy of feudal bonds and Christianity as a framework for relating to the supernatural.
