Women’s Workshop “La Reme i jo” by Remedios Varo and Eu Manzanares

Through 365 Dones l'Any, the TNC promotes a series devoted to recovering the legacy of great women in Catalan history who, in many cases, did not receive the relevance and recognition they deserved. After four editions devoted respectively to Aurora Bertrana, Anna Maria Martínez Sagi, Marina Ginestà and Margarida Rugall, this year the protagonist is visual artist Remedios Varo. Remedios Varo was a Surrealist painter noted for her ability to integrate science, magic and mysticism into imaginary worlds full of symbolism. Her work is significant for its female and introspective perspective, with a unique detailed and dreamlike aesthetic. Playwright Eu Manzanares has researched this Catalan painter who settled in Mexico, creating the text "La Reme i jo", which we will present at CCBarceloneta under the theatrical direction of Sílvia Comes. *To register for this proposal, participants must take part throughout the autumn 2026 term.
