'You Provide the Body. I Provide the Skin. Links between Architecture and Graphic Design' Exhibition

Architecture is the body of the city. Graphic design is its skin. We consider the built environment as lived space where architecture and graphic design meet to generate new relationships and create the city. Like a body that needs a skin, like a skin that needs a body. The exhibition You Provide the Body. I Provide the Skin explores the links between two creative and technical disciplines that make a decisive contribution to creating the city, physically but above all in terms of identity, image and meaning. As Finnish architect Juhani Pallasmaa has written, "architectural space is lived space rather than physical space". The exhibition considers this "lived space" as the place where architecture and graphic design meet. Often amicably, at other times through collision, but always resulting in new realities that become part of the city's identity and its inhabitants' experience. You Provide the Body. I Provide the Skin proposes a journey through images that are iconic of the relationship between architecture and graphic design in the specific setting of Barcelona.
