'Zips: Advanced' Workshop

A workshop aimed at students who have already completed the Zips: Beginner workshop. In this workshop we will continue progressing through different zip-insertion techniques using new exercises. The first sessions will focus on shorter exercises. In the final classes we will develop a longer project in which we will put into practice the techniques learned in the earlier sessions. Materials for the first day: 1 m of continuous zip with 3 sliders, 1 piece of fabric measuring 30x90 cm (cotton, calico, gabardine, twill or lightweight canvas) and another piece of the same size in a thinner fabric for the inside. Pencil and paper for taking notes. Basic sewing kit with fabric scissors, thread, tape measure, chalk pen or tailor's chalk for marking fabric, seam ripper, thread snips and pins. For the machine: universal presser foot, bilateral zip presser foot, bobbin holder, 10 mm bobbins and sewing-machine needles. It is recommended not to buy these until it is certain that the workshop will go ahead. Led by Mavi Hita.
