Fabra i Coats. Museu d'Història de Barcelona, Sant Andreu, Sant Andreu
The exhibition explains the contemporary history of work in Barcelona and shows how it transformed throughout the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as the city's transition from an industrial city to today's service-based city. The home, industry, construction, transport, maritime work, trade, health, education and public administration are presented through their material legacy and testimonies from some of their protagonists. The exhibition also highlights domestic and care work, a key element in sustaining life and all other forms of work, carried out largely by women and historically undervalued.
