Centre Cívic Tomasa Cuevas hosts a permanent exhibition inviting visitors to explore the life of Tomasa Cuevas, an active communist militant, anti-Franco activist, pioneer of feminism in Spain and an example of struggle, dignity and memory. Arrested and imprisoned in several prisons, in 1945 she entered the women's prison of Les Corts. After her release, she lived underground for several years. A member of l'Associació Catalana d'Expresos Polítics, after the restoration of democracy she wrote a trilogy about women in Francoist prisons. For the past four years, one of the civic centres in the Les Corts neighbourhood has borne her name.
