'Illustrated Music' Exhibition

"Illustrated Music" is an interactive exhibition project combining graphic art, music and literature in the form of song lyrics. The artist has illustrated twenty-two songs from a wide range of styles and origins, including works by Maria del Mar Bonet, The Smiths, Jorge Ben, Pau Riba, Charles Trenet, Fangoria, Henry Purcell, Mazoni, Ella Fitzgerald, Sanjosex and Björk, among others. Each illustration is accompanied by a small panel with the song lyrics translated into Catalan and QR codes that allow visitors to listen to the songs on their mobile phones without any technical complications. The exhibition helps us better understand the creative process of illustration —that is, transforming ideas or writing into images— while also allowing us to enjoy three different but complementary art forms at the same time.
