Punch-Drunk Love

"A romantic comedy sabotaged by Paul Thomas Anderson's alien gaze. There are no labels for Punch-Drunk Love. Imagine a Buster Keaton film directed by David Lynch, or a cross between Jacques Tati and Frank Tashlin. The colours are Tashlin's; the sterile, bare spaces, primed for the great theatre of the absurd that is our lives, are Tati's. Anderson uses both to draw out an extravagant visual poetry, at times with echoes of a pastel-toned musical" (Jordi Batlle Caminal).
Part of the programme: Paul Thomas Anderson. See the 5 activities in this programme in Barcelona on November 5.
