"Voices of My Land" Concert, by Trio Voces

With Trio Voces María José Rangel Gómez, flute Iratxe Ibaibarriaga Ibeas, cello Leyre Sáenz de Urturi, piano Voices of my land What blueprints do women composers use to give shape to their memories and their identity? Coinciding with Barcelona's year as World Capital of Architecture, Trio Voces presents a musical dialogue between two eras through Louise Farrenc (19th century) and the Catalan composer Elisenda Fàbregas (21st century). Strongly explanatory in character, the concert invites you to discover the inner structure of chamber music. We will see how Farrenc builds her Trio op. 44 on the balance of sonata form, and how Fàbregas, in Voces de mi tierra, uses rhythmic ostinatos and rich textures to raise a fascinating soundscape with Iberian roots. With the participation of Duo Ègara — Eduard Pujol López, clarinet, and Miquel Sanjuan Malgosa, piano — in the New Performers category.
