'City, Body and Gender. Feminist Routes and Cartographies between the Urban and Urban Planning' Workshop

The workshop «CITY, BODY AND GENDER. FEMINIST ROUTES AND CARTOGRAPHIES BETWEEN THE URBAN AND URBAN PLANNING», originally scheduled for Thursday 23 July, has been rescheduled because it is an outdoor activity and is incompatible with the high temperatures currently affecting Barcelona. The new date will be Wednesday 30 September at 18:00. 1.1. Preparing the gaze and exploratory route. (2 hr) We will begin the workshop by presenting the FEMCol·lectiva project, its values and its critical approach to architecture, urban planning and relations of power and gender. We will then offer an introductory talk on urban feminism: from the history of the post-industrial city to current gender-perspective urban-analysis methodologies such as exploratory walks. Participants will be able to share and discuss their own experiences in relation to public space and urban memory, addressing issues such as gender, age, mobility and social class. After a short break, an exploratory route through the neighbourhood will be carried out to observe, analyse and collect data about the surroundings from this critical and collective perspective.
