Concert "Echoes of Romanticism - Saxophone and Piano"

Echoes of Romanticism opens with a virtuosic caprice by Catalan composer David Salleras. This is followed by the moving lyricism of Jorge Grundman's new work for saxophone and piano and the Romantic essence of César Franck's Sonata; Fazil Say's Suite fuses this Romantic heritage with echoes of Eastern folk music. To conclude, the concert culminates in the brilliant fantasy on Georges Bizet's opera Carmen. Romanticism was not merely an era, but a way of feeling and creating: an exaltation of subjectivity, emotion and the search for the unattainable. Saxophone: Ismael Arroyo. Piano: Eduardo Moreno.
