Enjoy a Sunday breakfast and a conference on notable figures from history. Pilar Casals Miret. Degree in Ancient History from Universitat de Barcelona. Diploma and Master's in Egyptology, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Graduate in Religious Sciences, ISCREB. If there is a controversial figure in the Bible, perhaps the best known and most criticised is Eve, the first woman and mother of humanity. Rather than presenting her as an archetypal image, a symbol of life —which is what her name means— she has traditionally been portrayed as the cause of all evils: Eve as the cause of original sin. But did that original sin really exist? Is Eve really the villain of the story? During this breakfast we will reread these opening passages of Genesis to rediscover an Eve who has been belittled by tradition and only recently reclaimed.
