The first Diablada brings together music born of specific places but refusing to stay put. From Bogotá, Frente Cumbiero, led by Mario Galeano, has spent years pushing the boundaries of Colombian cumbia towards dub, psychedelia and experimentation, becoming one of the key projects of the new Latin American cumbia. Indus, headed by the Barranquilla producer Óscar Alford, connects the traditional music of Colombia's Caribbean and Pacific coasts with synths, Afro percussion and club electronics. From Barcelona, Julieta Garay (La Filosa) represents the link with the Argentine diaspora and a cumbia scene built around the Santa Fe accordion, cumbia villera and their crossings with urban sounds. Hija de la Coca takes the journey straight to the dancefloor, moving between cumbia, reggaeton, dembow and latin club. A night shot through with roots, diaspora, mixture and dance. Colombia, Argentina and Barcelona connected on one floor to open the first chapter of La Diablada.
