In July 1987, a team of architects and historians began documenting every building in the Icària neighbourhood before its disappearance. The Estudis històrico-arquitectònics del sector de l'avinguda Icària i el passeig Carles I constitute an exceptional and relatively little-known document, an unprecedented piece of work that exhaustively recorded the factories, homes, workshops and warehouses that existed before their destruction as part of one of Barcelona's major urban transformations. Coordinated by Xavier Acarín Wieland. Organisers: Xavier Acarín and Arxiu Històric Poblenou.
