'Jardins de Saló' Exhibition

From 5 June to 4 October, Jardí Botànic de Barcelona hosts the "Jardins de Saló" (Parlour Gardens) exhibition in different areas of the garden as part of Barcelona 2026 World Capital of Architecture. The exhibition celebrates the centenary of the innovative "parlour gardens" created by Rubió i Tudurí, Artigas and Dufy (1926), reinterpreted from a contemporary perspective by fifteen international architects and landscape designers who reimagine parlour gardens in 3D-printed ceramics that function both as models and living planters. Curated by Marina Cervera (Biennal Internacional de Paisatge de Barcelona, CEO NablaBCN), James Hayter (former president of IFLA, Oxigen) and José Luis Cortés (former president of UIA), the exhibition offers both a real and conceptual journey through high landscape architecture: its most refined expression, a synthesis of culture, technique and environmental sensitivity. The models are integrated into the garden's California, Chile, South Africa, Australia and Mediterranean-region areas, with 3 special sculptures in the Bonsai area, turning the visit into a narrative about how contemporary urban gardening draws inspiration from diverse global climates…
